Sagis Diagnostics is a physician-led subspecialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Our lab is driven by a team of board-certified pathologists who are passionate about delivering cutting-edge diagnostic services. We provide the highest-quality pathology services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals across the region.

Principal Job Duties:

  • Responsible for providing effective customer service to patients, clients, insurance companies and other medical facilities.
  • Position requires excellent telephone communication skills, and a high level of skill in entering data into the computer while talking with patients.
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal; great active listening skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and rapport building skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Ensures record accuracy, follows up, and makes necessary revisions in billing system as needed
  • Computer literacy imperative including ability to process patient payments and work in multiple clinical systems at one time
  • Processes changes in system to support accurate and efficient billing process and financial close
  • Able to use Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook

 

FLSA: Non-Exempt, RFT
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
Wage: $18-$22.00 per hour

Qualifications

Required Job Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • High-school or equivalent degree Required- Associates degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a patient-facing medical facility or practice- Required
  • 1-3 years’ of experience in Medical Billing experience- Preferred
  • Pathology Laboratory Billing experience a PLUS
  • Must have excellent Phone skills, including familiarity with complex or multi-line phone systems
  • Must have effective organizational and communication skills
  • Must have effective time management skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, file or lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, see and hear.
