Seeking mid-level communications professional to manage social media calendar and create multimedia content to support a nonprofit mental health treatment organizationÂ
Skyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health residential treatment program for adults and adolescents in Atlanta, is seeking a senior communications coordinator. This is an ideal position for a mid-level professional with expertise in social media, email marketing, content creation, copywriting, and video editing who enjoys applying their skills in a team-based, mission-focused environment. This is a hybrid remote position with the option to work up to two days remotely each week. Three days each week are in-office at the adult campus in Brookhaven.Â

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESÂ

The goal of the communications department is to build awareness, engagement and support among potential clients and families, mental health professionals, and community supporters and charitable donors. The communications department also supports internal employee communications as well as ongoing communications with enrolled and alumni patients and families. Multimedia content includes event promotions, mental health awareness and education, and program and services announcements. Â

The senior communications coordinator manages content creation, social media, and internal communications while ensuring brand consistency across all platforms. This position manages the social media calendar and ensures that content targets are met each month by creating and sharing content. The senior communications coordinator also contributes to content creation goals for videos, emails, slide presentations, long-form content, client testimonials, flyers, infographics, and marketing materials. Â

The senior communications coordinator works closely with the clinical team, the development and fundraising team, the referral relations team, HR and staff recruitment, and the community education team. Â

Day-to-day activities include managing the social media calendar in Sprout; using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva to create social posts, stories, and reels; recording and editing interviews with clinical staff members about mental health topics; writing blog posts or content for our employee intranet; creating emails in Mailchimp to promote events and programs; and helping alumni clients share their recovery storiesÂ

ABOUT SKYLAND TRAILÂ
Skyland Trail provides mental health residential and day treatment programs for teens and adults struggling with mental health disorders like depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and schizophrenia. Though struggling with their symptoms, Skyland Trail patients have entered treatment voluntarily, and clients and their families are engaged in their treatment program. Clients often admit to an intensive level of care like residential treatment and then transition to less intensive levels of care like day treatment over a period of about 2 to 4 months. Skyland Trail campuses include gardens, private patient rooms, and common rooms that provide a therapeutic, healing environment for our clients and families. A key philosophy at Skyland Trail is that we expect our clients to get better. We help our clients identify their own goals for their future, and we help them develop the skills needed to pursue those goals in healthy and effective ways.Â

Salary range: $48,000-$58,000 commensurate with experienceÂ
