The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resources Manager, Corporate HR staff, and plant supervisors and managers. The HR Specialist is responsible for non-exempt and exempt recruiting and onboarding process. Works to ensure positive employee relations, and is also involved in training, policy implementation, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Administers human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel.
- Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
- Prepares and maintains employee handbook, policies, and procedures manual.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Assists in benefits administration by communicating benefit information to employees including enrollment dates and changes to new plans.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, including writing and placing advertisements
- Conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing, performance, and development.
- Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Maintains facility organization charts.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Work with management to seek out ways to reduce turnover.
- Maintains human resources information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Safety Committee representative.
- Manages workplace safety.
- Maintains OSHA Logs
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
