Broward Children’s Center (BCC) is dedicated to transforming lives by providing specialized care to children and young adults who are medically fragile and developmentally disabled. Our comprehensive services range from 24/7 skilled nursing at our pediatric care facility to developmental education programs, therapeutic support, and family-centered services like respite care, social services, and in-home health support.

SUMMARY
Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons in such settings as private homes, or schools.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One-year certificate from college or technical school; and one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS

Preference given to those with Home Health Agency experience, pediatric programs, or coordinating services for special needs children.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide assigned nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse and/or physician.
Provides care for assigned home health patients including, but not limited to;
• Nursing assessment: initial head to toe, vital signs and ongoing monitoring of patients.
• Activities of daily living: bathing, toileting, diapering, lifting, transferring,
• Nutritional support: feedings by mouth, gastrostomy tube, naso-gastric tube, maintenance of aspirating precautions,
• Respiratory treatments: administration of aerosolized nebulizer treatment, chest physiotherapy, oral/nasal/tracheal suctioning, pulse oximetry, oxygen therapy, ventilator management, cleaning and maintenance of respiratory supplies,
• Safety measures: maintenance of universal, fall and seizure precautions,
• Growth and development enhancement: provide client with verbal, visual and tactile stimulation, range of motion exercises, splint or physical therapies,
• Administration of medication, and
• Documentation of all activities and assessment findings.

Florida LPN License
HIV Course, CPR
Valid Florida Driver's License
A Confidentiality Agreement is required and must be signed upon commencement of service.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

- Step Up Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (Pre-K up to 8th grade). We offer Private Therapy Services for those that qualify. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included.
- Early Learning Coalition of Broward County School Readiness Program (for children ages 1 up to 3 years old). Early Steps Therapy Services for those that qualify. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included.
- Employee Daycare (for ages 1 year through 5 years old), available at $150 per week, inclusive of breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
- Broward County Non-School Days: We offer our employees childcare when Broward County has non-school days (winter break, spring break, thanksgiving break), with the exception of major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas day, etc.).
