Program Description:

The Development Team works with donors, prospects, Foundation and Corporate funders, and government officials to raise unrestricted and restricted funding in support of Graham’s mission. 

 

The Development Team focuses on linking mission to action by attaining funding. Relationship building, superior communications, and deep collaboration are characteristics of the Team and how it effects change internally and externally as key connection agents for Graham.

 

Principal Objective/Role Overview:

The Integrated Fundraising Specialist strengthens Graham’s fundraising efforts by creating development marketing and communications pieces, that support both donor cultivation and acquisition across various channels. This role involves, with supervision, developing and executing multichannel fundraising strategies, creating compelling messaging with graphic design elements, utilizing Graham’s donor database, and collaborating with other teams to achieve fundraising goals, all to propel Graham’s work as a premier fundable non-profit. 
 

This role is responsible for timely and accurate messaging, works collaboratively to acquire new prospects and donors, as well as improve donor retention. Consistent reporting on agreed upon metrics of success will be required. Reliable and seamless execution of communication tactics is a key function.

 

This role involves both prospecting (finding new donors) and stewardship (maintaining existing donor relationships) in support of Graham, our children, youth, families, and communities. Demonstrating the value of collaboration, managing annual giving cycles of communication, developing and accelerating Graham’s social media presence plus drafting monthly reports are key outcomes for this role. Outcomes are determined on a per annum basis collectively and focus on expansion of communications channels, depth of engagement, and actualized next steps for prospect and donor acquisition, renewal and retention as strategically agreed upon.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Management: Coordinate and manage fundraising campaigns across different channels (e.g., direct mail, email, social media +). 
  • Donor Relationship Management: Understand the donor cycle and effectively use a multichannel approach to build and sustain relationships with donors, both existing and potential, through various engagement methods. 
  • Marketing and Communications Support: Develop and execute marketing materials and communication strategies to support fundraising efforts. 
  • Data Management: Track internal and external data sources to analyze and report on campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Content Creation and Design:
    • Write fundraising copy for various materials, including appeals, acknowledgement letters, and event materials. 
    • Using Graham standards, use graphic design and color to augment and accentuate Graham’s presence in social media posts, emails, physical mail, and other communication channels.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Communications, Advocacy, and other relevant teams to promote fundraising and other communications initiatives to ensure cohesive and consistent messaging. 
  • Strategic Planning: Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies and plans.
  • Reporting and Evaluation: Prepare reports and presentations to communicate fundraising progress and impact to stakeholders.  
  • Grants and Sponsorships: May assist with grant research and application and sponsorship solicitation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, discipline non-specific
  • 3-5 years of experience in similar positions demonstrating multichannel activation
  • Raisers’ Edge experience + Blackbaud training preferred
  • Microsoft Office suite experience a plus
  • Excellent fundraising written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • Graphic design experience and aptitude
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Must be willing to travel throughout NYC as needed
  • Motivated and ability to work by collaboration
  • Energized by Graham’s mission

 

Salary & Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $75,000.00/year
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
