Collins is seeking a self-motivated Structural Project Engineer to be an integral part of our team in Boise, Idaho. This position will provide the opportunity to work on a variety of structural inspection and design projects. The ideal candidate must have an interest in diving and project management; Collins will arrange for and send the candidate to dive school if they do not have this training. This is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to take the next step in their career.

 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspection of bridges and waterfront structures.
  • Ancillary and sign structure inspections.
  • Above- and below-water bridge inspection including routine and fracture critical bridge inspections and reporting, bridge rehabilitation design, and bridge load ratings.
  • Field work required, which could include nights and weekends.
  • Design of bridges, transportation structures, earth retention structures, and waterfront structures.
  • Oil and gas refinery facilities inspections and repair design.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience or the equivalent thereof. 
  • Experience in the inspection and/or design of, but not limited to, bridges, roadways, railroads, marinas, and/or ports a plus.
  • Must have desire to perform underwater bridge inspections and willingness to attend dive school paid for by Collins Engineers
  • Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
  • Valid driver’s license

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While in the field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to 8 hours or more at a time. 

 

 *The base salary will be estimated between $83,200 - $98,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
