Job Title: Payroll & Data Analyst

Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Reports To: Director of Accounting

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll & Data Analyst to manage data entry and reporting for a multi-entity infrastructure services company. This role is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, data analysis, and compliance with prevailing wage or union wage requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with Dayforce (formerly known as Ceridian), certified payroll reporting, and a strong understanding of labor regulations and data management.

This position must be local to a candidate living in Colorado Springs, CO, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, New Braunfels, TX, Gig Harbor, WA. We do not offer relocation assistance. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and optimization of Dayforce, including system testing, configuration, and user training.
  • Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws (e.g., Davis-Bacon), including certified payroll reporting.
  • Support processing of weekly payroll for employees across multiple states and job sites, ensuring compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain payroll-related reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with field operations, HR, Payroll and accounting to ensure accurate timekeeping and labor classifications.
  • Support maintenance of accurate payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, and tax filings.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in accordance with project and agency requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation and compliance reports.
  • Ensure data integrity and security in payroll systems and reporting processes.
  • Candidate will support both HR and Payroll teams to ensure seamless payroll processing between teams.
  • Act as a liaison between payroll and HR teams to ensure seamless processing, troubleshooting payroll processing issues as they arise.
  • Assist with building custom reports and system dashboards for team members.
  • Document payroll and reporting processes to support team training and business continuity.
  • Partner with HR to support compensation analyses, merit increases, and wage adjustments.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of payroll or labor-related data analysis experience, preferably in the infrastructure services industry or related.
  • Experience with Dayforce (Ceridian) is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including Microsoft Excel and reporting platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, including Davis-Bacon.
  • Experience with multi-entity payroll and prevailing wage or union payroll.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC certification.
  • Experience with certified payroll reporting platforms (e.g., LCPtracker, eMars).
  • Familiarity with construction project labor compliance, job costing, and data visualization tools.

 

 

Other Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
  • Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Working Environment

  • This is an on-site position located in a professional office environment, with periodic jobsite visits as needed.
