Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to join our collaborative team of specialists. This physician will focus on diagnosing, treating, and managing injuries and conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and forearm. The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained in hand surgery, with expertise in both surgical and non-surgical treatment modalities. This role offers the opportunity to work in a well-established orthopedic clinic with access to advanced surgical technology, an experienced support team, and a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and treat patients with conditions related to the hand, wrist, and forearm, including trauma, degenerative disorders, nerve compression, and congenital abnormalities.

  • Perform surgical procedures such as tendon and nerve repair, fracture fixation, joint reconstruction, and microsurgical techniques as appropriate.

  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with other orthopedic subspecialists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists.

  • Provide post-operative and follow-up care to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.

  • Interpret diagnostic imaging and utilize other diagnostic tools to determine the best course of care.

  • Participate in shared call coverage for hand-related injuries and emergencies.

  • Document all patient encounters, treatments, and surgical outcomes in a timely and accurate manner in the electronic medical record system.

  • Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatment options, and recovery expectations.

  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and continuing medical education as desired.


Qualifications:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.

  • Completion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency program.

  • Completion of a hand surgery fellowship (ACGME-accredited preferred).

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery with subspecialty certification in Hand Surgery (or eligible).

  • Active or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota.

  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, communication, and teamwork.

  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, patient-centered environment.


Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience treating both adult and pediatric hand conditions.

  • Comfort with microsurgery and complex cases.

  • Strong commitment to evidence-based medicine and continuous improvement.

  • Interest in community engagement or medical education is a plus.


Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Outpatient clinic with access to on-site therapy and radiology services.

  • Surgical procedures performed in surgical center or hospital settings 

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule with rotating call responsibilities.
