Description

Delivery Responsibilities      

Complete all deliveries as assigned in a timely, safe, accurate and professional manner.  Follow all SOPs, best practices and guidance for the delivery tasks.  This includes:

  • Inspect equipment and material prior to loading and recognizing and resolving damage issues.
  • Ensure that Ship-Tickets, Delivery labels and piece-counts are accurate.  If not, resolve the issues.
  • Manifest and Route deliveries effectively to ensure that deliveries are timely and that the route is run efficiently.  Read and follow customer and order shipping instructions.
  • Load the truck in order of delivery and to prevent damage.  Re-position as needed during the day to prevent damage.
  • Use "box counts" when unloading/staging material at the customer to ensure that deliveries are accurate.
  • Stage the orders at the customer's location in an organized manner with the ship-tickets.
  • Where necessary, inspect equipment with the customer and call the branch while on-site to resolve any issues.
  • Communicate immediately (while on-site or with the customer) with the customer and branch whenever there are issues and ensure that they are resolved.  This may include "ship exchanges", damages, incorrect product , customer returns etc.
  • Upon returning from deliveries check in with your supervisor and ensure that returns and any issues are addressed.
  • Operate your Vehicle to avoid accidents and safety issues.  In the event of an issue use the Accident Form to take the necessary steps and communicate to your manager immediately.
  • Follow protocol if stopped for a DOT inspection and communicate the same day with your manager to include providing any forms that are given to you.

Warehouse Responsibilities

  • Ensures all branch customer orders are pulled, scanned, packaged, staged, and/or loaded into customer vehicle accurately and undamaged.
  • Unloads, scans, and puts away all inventory transfers delivered by the designated transfer truck daily; loads outgoing transfers.
  • Unloads, scans, and puts away all vendor delivered purchase orders daily.
  • Rotates floor stock to ensure that time or date sensitive items are used on First In First Out basis.
  • Ensures that all warehouse aisles and bin locations are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Performs cycle counts and inventories as directed by the Branch Manager.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
•    High School Diploma or Equivalent.
•    Minimum of 2 years warehousing 
•    Minimum 1 year delivery
•    Valid Class “C” Driver’s License with good driving record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk and hear. The employee will frequently be required to stoop, kneel, crouch and climb ladders. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seated in retail store environment and is exposed to fluorescent lighting, background noise, and computer monitors.
