Remote Insurance Representative

This Remote position is only available in: Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania or Texas

Under the supervision of the Insurance Supervisor, the Insurance Representative ensures the efficient operation and effective reimbursement of hospital or professional insurance claims by researching unpaid balances, correcting billing errors, writing and filing appeals, or submitting any other requirement to secure payment. This position initiates contacts and negotiates appropriate resolution (internal and external) as well as receives and resolves inquiries and correspondence from third parties and patients.  A deep understanding of insurance carriers, coding and billing guidelines, and insurance follow-up is required, with an emphasis on system proficiency. The Insurance Representative will be responsible for effective AR management for their assigned inventory, based on the needs of the client.

Requirements

• Ability to research payer billing policies and medical bulletins to accurately troubleshoot denials and unpaid balances
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of insurance reimbursement
• Outstanding listening, communication, problem-solving, and research skills
• Capable of learning multiple software systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task routinely
• Professional acumen and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated stable work history
• HIPAA knowledge and compliance

Education and Experience

• At least one year experience in revenue cycle, with emphasis on Insurance Follow-Up, Denials, Billing, or Cash Posting
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferences

• Experience with Epic HB or PB Resolute
