JOB SUMMARY: The Marketing and Retention Manager is responsible for leading recruitment, marketing, and participant retention efforts for the New Settlement YouthBuild program. This includes developing and executing digital and in-person outreach strategies, building brand visibility, engaging with prospective participants and community partners, and ensuring consistent engagement and follow-up with current and former students. The ideal candidate will be creative, organized, tech-savvy, and skilled at both relationship-building and project management. 

 

Job Duties include but not limited to:

Marketing & Outreach 

  • Design and produce engaging marketing materials including flyers, brochures, videos, and print advertisements. 
  • Create and manage content across digital platforms ti increase program visibility and engagement. 
  • Develop and implement promotional campaigns aligned with recruitment goals.  
  • Present the New Settlement YouthBuild program at schools, career fairs, community meetings, clubs, universities, and civic organizations. 
  • Represent the program at public events, trade fairs, and outreach activities to raise awareness and support enrollment. 
  • Work closely with the organization’s communications team to ensure alignment with broader messaging, branding, and media outreach strategies. 

Recruitment & Enrollment Support 

  • Collaborate with program staff to recruit, assess, and enroll participants in compliance with contract requirements. 
  • Assist with creating flyers, outreach communications, and mobile orientation sessions. 
  • Ensure eligibility documentation, intake forms, and application materials are submitted completely and on time. 
  • Conduct follow-up with interested candidates and manage a recruitment pipeline. 

Retention & Participant Support 

  • During the recruitment off-season, partner with participants one-on-one to develop SMART goals around education and employment. 
  • Provide consistent support to help youth remain engaged in the program and make progress toward their goals. 
  • Support client success efforts through regular communication and tracking of progress. 
  • Maintain long-term contact with program graduates for at least one year post-program to track employment and education outcomes. 

Administrative & Reporting 

  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of participant engagement, communications, and outcomes. 
  • Provide regular reports and updates on recruitment, retention, and marketing and outreach outcomes. 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • An associate degree in advertising, graphic design, marketing, journalism, public relations, social services, or related field
  • 2-3 years' experience in the field may be advantageous
  • Strong industry knowledge
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Experience with institutional databases, public access sites, and primary research skills
  • Good reporting, technical, and statistical skills
  • Experience with budget management
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish-English) are a plus

Employment is at will and employees will undergo 45- and 90-day check-ins during their 90-day probationary period.
