Position Description
Methodist University Davis Memorial Library seeks applicants for a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty member in the role of Electronic Resources Librarian. This position is responsible for the coordination and provision of digital library resources and information databases, as well as the technical features that make them operational. The Electronic Resources Librarian is also expected to provide a variety of professional library services to library users, including library instruction and research consultations.

Duties Include:
- Maintaining the library's electronic collection of databases, serials, documents, eBooks, audiovisuals, Open Educational Resources, or other materials, and assisting groups and individuals in locating, obtaining, and using digital materials.

- Establishing and managing workflows for electronic resources acquisition, licensing, implementation, and assessment at Davis Memorial Library.

- Managing web-based content systems and services such as Lib Guides, A-Z Database lists, and the library chat.

- Serving as point person for troubleshooting electronic access and subscription-related problems; coordinating with campus IT and escalating issues to vendors or representatives as needed. Â

- Negotiating pricing, ensuring contract compliance, and maintaining ongoing electronic resource agreements with vendors, consortia, and publishers. Monitoring trends and best practices related to electronic resources through participation in professional organizations, consortia, workshops, continuing education courses and reading professional materials.

- Participate as an integral part of the Reference and Instructional team providing instruction for introductory and upper-level classes, serve as liaison to the College of Health Sciences and Human Services

- Serving on relevant University committees and teams and other library-related duties as assigned.
