Position Title: Program Coordinator and Assistant (or Associate) Professor of Nursing – ABSN Program (Tenure‑Track, Full Time, 12‑month appointment)

Position Summary
The Program Coordinator / tenure-track faculty member will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the newly forming ABSN program at Methodist University. This includes coordination of curriculum, alignment with North Carolina Board of Nursing regulations and CCNE accreditation standards, faculty mentorship, student advising, clinical placements and partnerships, and engagement in scholarship and service consistent with university expectations.
**This position is externally funded for a period of two years. Continued employment beyond the initial funding period is contingent upon sustained program enrollment and the availability of position funding.**
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Program Development, Coordination & Leadership
- Oversee the ABSN curriculum design and ensure compliance with NC Board of Nursing educational rules and CCNE standards for program outcomes, curricular objectives, and student achievement.
- Coordinate course scheduling, faculty assignments, and clinical placements in consultation with clinical partners.
- Manage program admissions standards, progression requirements, remediation plans, and retention strategies.
Clinical & Academic Faculty Assignments
- Teach didactic and clinical nursing courses within the ABSN program.
- Supervise adjunct clinical faculty in community and healthcare facilities.
- Maintain clinical affiliation agreements and ensure agency compliance
Student Support & Advising
- Advise ABSN students through their accelerated track progression, including guidance on academic and professional development.
- Facilitate orientation and transition activities specific to second–degree nursing students.
Assessment, Accreditation & Quality Improvement
- Participate in continuous program evaluation: NCLEX pass rates, clinical competency, student satisfaction, graduate outcomes.
- Assist with CCNE self-study, annual reports and site visits.
- Monitor compliance with NC BON documentation and reporting requirements.
Scholarship & Professional Service
- Engage in discipline‑relevant scholarship: research, presentations, publications or creative activity.
- Serve on departmental, school, university, and community committees aligned with the program’s mission.
- Participate actively in professional nursing organizations and accreditation forums.
Budget & Resource Management (optional, if applicable)
- Assist with development and management of the program’s budget, resources, and equipment procurement.
- Seek external grants or funding to support clinical simulation, student experiences, or program enhancement.
