Overview

The Younger Elementary Kindergarten–2nd Grade Director will lead a Christ-centered, safe, and fun ministry experience that helps children begin to understand their God-given identity, belonging, and purpose. This role focuses on developing environments where kids have fun, feel safe and connected, and gain a practical understanding of God’s love. While working interdepartmentally, the Younger Elementary Director for Kindergarten–2nd grade will ensure alignment with broader ministry goals and foster collaboration across NextGen and church ministries.

 

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

· Foster a safe, biblical, fun, and welcoming ministry environment.

· Oversee and execute age-appropriate worship, activities and games. Currently using Orange curriculum.

· Recruit, train, mentor and celebrate volunteers in collaboration with Nextgen ministry as a whole. Co-lead the weekly all team huddle.

· Champion and facilitate spiritual milestone organization such as baptism and dedications.

· Organize and execute reach events like VBS, Fall Fest and smaller connect events with other kids ministry leaders.

· Partner with parents through regular communication and encouragement.

· Ensure compliance with safety standards and facility requirements.

· Collaborate with NextGen Ministries and church leadership for alignment.

 

Qualifications & Expectations

· Personal relationship with Jesus and commitment to spiritual growth.

· Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in children’s ministry.

· Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills.

· Committed to collaboration, feedback, and ongoing professional development.
