POSITION SUMMARY:
The positions assigned to this classification perform skilled work in the set up and striking of events scheduled for the National Bowling Stadium and the Reno Events Center, and the care, cleaning, and maintenance of these facilities. A Facility Lead is expected to be able to work by himself/herself without close supervision, and willing to work irregular hours and days including overtime, weekends, holidays, and night shifts.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets up and strikes equipment for events scheduled for the National Bowling Stadium and the Reno Events Center, including but not limited to tables, chairs, portable walls, dance floors, barricades, furniture, staging and risers, and the like.
- Frequently operates a forklift, aerial tower, platform and scissor lifts, and other equipment for set up of these events.
- Assists in the attainment of the annual maintenance and performance objectives set for the maintenance of the National Bowling Stadium and the Reno Events Center.
- Oversees and directs pre & post event cleaning and janitorial tasks, including but not limited to loading/unloading trucks, sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing.
- Maintains the grounds and parking lots by picking up trash, sweeping, blowing off loading docks & sidewalks, monitoring and repairing the irrigation system, prunes and fertilizes shrubs and trees, pulls and sprays weeds, pressure washes walks and entryways and performs snow removal duties.
- Empties wastebaskets and other trash receptacles and replaces liners; high dusts and cleans the walls, windows, sills, ledges, concrete flooring, and carpeted areas using manual and mechanical methods. Transports trash and waste to proper disposal area.
- Ensures Facility Workers and Temporary Staff are performing tasks and duties per the requirements and standards of the Reno Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority.
- Ensure employees make prompt and timely set ups and strikes for events scheduled at the National Bowling Stadium and the Reno Events Center.
- Assists in making sure events are properly staffed to enable clients of the facilities to receive services and equipment in conformance with their contract, and that the event is struck in a prompt and timely manner.
- Works together with Event Managers to ensure contracted services are fulfilled and assures the prompt and courteous correction of deficiencies.
- Assists in the training of employees to ensure each person possesses the required knowledge, abilities, and skills to clean, set up and strike the facilities including proper and safe work methods utilized to set up various events.
- Assists in evaluating the quality and efficiency of employees by making regular and frequent inspections of the facility, reviewing daily work progress, and advising and directing employees in the improvement of work production and work methods.
- Responds to and reports visual irregularities, discrepancies, damage, loss of property and safety concerns to supervisor
- Assists with ordering materials and supplies in conformance with RSCVA procedures and regulations. Replenishes supplies as needed.
- Supervises and tracks the issuance of tools, materials, and supplies to employees and the prompt return of tools to storage to minimize loss.
- Assists in the establishment of standard operating procedures for work activities to include safety guidelines and quality and performance standards. Assures maximum production of employees in a safe manner in compliance with these procedures.
- Assists with the more difficult and complex work tasks to ensure proper work methods are used and worker safety ensured.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
