Position Overview:

The Sr. Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to Company policy, including relevant legal and regulatory requirements. This role involves, but is not limited to, overseeing the Company’s Compliance Program, including carrying out the annual Compliance Plan, conducting investigations, performing audits, and maintaining open lines of communication with various departments to implement, promote, and maintain effective compliance strategies. The Sr. Compliance Specialist also serves as a subject matter expert, providing advice and support to leadership on complex compliance issues.

The Sr. Compliance Specialist shall report to the Director of Compliance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as Chairperson for the market’s Compliance Committee.
  • Promote the Compliance Program and Plan throughout the market.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations, including industry standards for the market.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that could impact the organization.
  • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to the organization’s market operations.
  • Ensure consistency in compliance practices and procedures in the market.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with operational management to monitor compliance activities and address issues, if any.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the compliance program within the market.
  • Identify areas of risk and develop market-specific mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of corrective actions when compliance issues are identified.
  • Develop and distribute compliance-related communications and updates to the management team and center staff.
  • Conduct and oversee investigations into suspected compliance violations within the region and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports on compliance activities, findings, and recommendations.
  • Design and deliver compliance training programs tailored to the needs of different regions.
  • Provide ongoing education and support to ensure that center staff are aware of and understand compliance obligations.
  • Assist in the development and review of internal policies and procedures to ensure they align with regulatory requirements across all regions.
  • Work closely with center management to integrate compliance into daily operations.
  • Identify opportunities for improving compliance processes at the market level and recommend solutions.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Required Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Certification in compliance or willing to obtain within 6 months
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance role.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and healthcare standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in creating and presenting PPT presentations professionally and effectively
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Capacity to motivate and lead teams of cross-functional resources.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, critical thinker with strong analytical skills
  • Strong consultative relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in a standard office environment.
  • Must be willing to consistently travel throughout the region.
