Job Summary

The Clinical Applications Systems Analyst is responsible for the management and coordination of the implementation, design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems utilized in Sanitas Medical Centers. This role also in collaboration with Information and Technology enhances the functionality and efficiency of clinical operations, ensuring effective integration of clinical systems with other applications.

  • Configure, maintain, and support the eClinicalWorks (ECW) system, including EHR, PM, Patient Portal, Healow apps, Population Health module, and ancillary modules
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff, administrative teams, and IT to gather requirements and optimize workflows
  • Provides configuration when setting up new providers and requesting licenses
  • Provide end-user support through troubleshooting, training, and documentation
  • Analyze system performance and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and usability
  • Build and customize templates, forms, clinical decision support tools, and reports
  • Manage upgrades, patches, testing, and implementation of new ECW versions and features
  • Provides guidance on system configuration, access rights, and security protocols
  • Generate and maintain operational, clinical, and regulatory reports using eBO (eClinicalWorks Business Optimizer) or other reporting tools
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party integrators as necessary for system enhancements or problem resolution
  • Lead the Analysis, identification, and troubleshooting EMR clinical system issues that cannot be resolved by EMR Specialist (Level 1 Specialists) 
  • Ensure that the implemented solutions meet quality standards, perform as expected, and are reliable for end-users
  • Coordinate with Clinical Applications Specialists, Analysts, and Director for the planning, development and management of assigned enterprise applications
  • Coordinate and implement activities related to assigned projects and monitor the progress with team members by providing guidance and ensuring accomplishment in time and scope
  • Active participation on committees as required to present improvement proposals, solutions to challenges and issues and reports on the relevant aspects
  • Analyze any proposed software/system that interacts with the EMR to provide feedback and recommendations on adoption and implementation of the software/system
  • Build and develop interfaces with vendors to support clinical operations. Ex: Practice Management Software, Scheduling software, Medical Devices, Labs, DI, pharmacy and other ancillary applications
  • Coordinate training sessions with the team of EMR Specialists and Training team members to keep them up to date on new interfaces and systems so they are aware of all the products being used in the environment
  • Coordinate and provide training for onboard and implementations to company users and department staff as required, on clinical applications used in the company
  • Assist in project tasks and elbow support for implementations of Clinical applications at new and existing sites 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has No direct supervisory responsibilities. However, this position will collaborate with the team members to perform their regular task under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Applications.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree.

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years' experience working with current EMR (eClinicalWorks) in a multi-clinic environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of other EMR systems, Healthcare Billing, Coding and Clinical Documentation Improvement (3+ Years).

 

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • No required 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of EMR modules (EMR, PM, EBO, KIOSK, HEALOW, Population Health etc.)
  • Knowledge of external EMR/ Clinical Systems (EPIC, Cerner, Availity, HIE etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in EMR configuration and training
  • Knowledge of Clinical Terminology, Healthcare Administration/Process Flow
  • Familiar with basic computer literacy with knowledge of Basic IT/Networking and Clinical Site Set up
  • Knowledge of Standard Healthcare IT communication standards (HL7 modalities, CSV, EDI 835/837/277/278/999, APIs, etc.)
  • Good written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and critical thinking with analytical skills
  • Strong consultative relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Customer Service Oriented
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality within HIPAA and compliance guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate level in Clinical Field or Systems Applications preferred.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Law, both Federal and State our clinics are in, (Ability to research other states we have/will have practices in).
  • eCW Certification (eClinicalWorks)

Physical Demands
