Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
Required Experience
- One (1+) year of experience in the healthcare field.
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).

- Flexibility to rotate shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by the clinic’s needs. Typically full-time, with potential for evening or weekend shifts depending on the facility’s schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or organizational leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates with prior Certified Medical Assistant experience (at least 2+ years) are preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment and must be able to exert regularly up to 10 pounds of force, frequently exert 30 pounds of force and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force to constantly perform the essential job functions. The employee will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee should have the ability to handle a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and deal with the emotional and physical needs of patients. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and gowns as necessary to protect against healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
Environmental Conditions
Inside: The employee is subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The work environment is typically a Medical office, clinic, or healthcare facility. The worker is subject to noise; there may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
