POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operations of Parker Oil and Propane and is responsible for the financial performance of the departments.  Will provide excellent customer service by completing these activities in a professional and positive manner. The Head of Operations is a role model and leader and must solve problems, make informed decisions and manage the workforce and time wisely to achieve maximum results.

Essential Functions:

  • The Head of Operations is required to regularly exercise discretion in managing the overall operation of the plant, wholesale, fleet and services divisions.
  • Oversee and develop the managers and directors to deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to align with the company’s overall goals, including operational plans, and budgeting.
  • Oversee and manage business processes, including production, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction and service quality, managing each aspect of the department’s financial performance and managing safety and security.
  • Drives the implementation of company programs by motivating and supporting the staff and management team within the departments to develop and implement action plans that meet operational and organizational objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize processes.
  • Manage and control operational budgets to ensure profitability and efficient resource allocation.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that products and services meet standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining the company's image and integrity.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to operational processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure compliance, efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
  • Responsible for actively supporting company communication by providing timely, ongoing feedback to managers and management team regarding regional, industry, or customer specific activity or conversation.
  • Completing all assigned training classes in person and online
  • Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Parker Oil and Propane
  • Plans, identifies, communicates and delegates key responsibilities and practices to the managers and directors to ensure smooth flow of operations within the company
  • Assign duties to employees as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance
  • Monitor and review monthly operating expenses.
  • Prepare projected capital expenditure requirements to submit to Finance
  • Monitor all aspects of financial performance.
  • Monitor all personnel's quality service skills, making recommendations for improvement as necessary.
  • Resolve conflicts with customers utilizing superior customer service skills.
  • Maintain positive employee relations.
  • Participate in company, industry, and community activities, which serve to enhance the company's image.
  • Accept participatory roles in various organizations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Establish a good working relationship with other company departments

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work in this classification can be considered light physical work. This means the job may require frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Prefer bachelor’s degree in related field and or business
  • High School Diploma required
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with budgeting, finance and cost management
  • Experience with data analysis and performance metrics
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Five plus years of related work experience required
  • Must have computer skills- ability to create, customize and apply intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills to many variable spreadsheets and office documents. 
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports.
  • Frequent daily travel is required, and periodic overnight travel is required.
