Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The primary role of the Tutor is to support the ongoing academic goals for students through individualized or small group instruction.  The tutor will work under the supervision of the school staff to assist students with academic areas of needs based on data.   


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

  • Assist students in targeted subject areas via individual or group tutoring
  • Host workshops on selected topics
  • Model and encourage collaborative study strategies
  • Create and manage resources
  • Contribute to a friendly and productive learning environment
  • Maintain data to track progress toward academic goals
  • Meet regularly with supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree or two (2) years college degree (preferred).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Must possess proficient typing and computer skills.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

 

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
