Description

The person is responsible for directly supervising the construction of greenhouse structures and systems or other structures as determined by management. This is a safety sensitive position because this is a hands-on foreman position working alongside the construction crews on installation of all types of our buildings from metal, beam, truss and greenhouses. This person will be driving to construction sites in a construction company vehicle pulling a trailer. This person will be using a variety of power and hand tools, operating forklifts, scissor lifts and man lifts. 

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise the work activities of the construction crews assigned to assemble greenhouses or other construction as determined by management. Provide input on their performance to the Building Construction Specialist.
  • Ensure construction projects remain on schedule, within budget, and are completed successfully.
  • Prepare worksites for assembly and placement of greenhouses or other construction structures.
  • Read project plans, drawings, specifications, instruction manuals, and blueprints.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding installations.
  • Mobilize and protect necessary construction equipment.
  • Ensure all parts and materials are available on campus or on customer site.
  • Monitor the quality of the installation and report any problems or potential problems to the Building Construction Specialist or Senior Project Manager.
  • Document all progress of the project in Procore, including a note and photos each day onsite, track equipment, deliveries, manpower, safety forms, visitor logs, weather, inspections, and deliveries of the greenhouse projects.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Ability: 

  • Ability to read and follow complex instructions and read blueprints and schematics
  • 1+ year of construction experience
  • Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures related to human resources management
  • Knowledge of building codes and restrictions
  • Knowledge of safety policies and regulations
  • Knowledge of construction requirements and techniques
  • Ability to define and solve specific customer problems associated with installation
  • Ability to supervise the work of others
  • Skilled at using construction tools and equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Extensive travel will be required to customer site to perform work.
  • Frequently requires physical labor typical of construction activities, which include lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Working outside is required, sometimes in harsh weather conditions. 

Must be abie to receive continuous training in corporate policies and procedures related to product installation and human resources management, and construction techniques.
