Essential Duties and Qualifications

Virginia Health Services is hiring a Full Time, Administrative Assistant for Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, located in Hampton, VA. 

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks under the direction of the Administrator.

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assists the staff as needed.
  • Prepares and records daily deposits for all facilities, including monthly reconciliations, and maintains checkbook.
  • Screening phone calls and routing callers to the appropriate party.
  • Responsible for corporate banking and postal activities.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining office supplies.
  • Responsible for ordering kitchen supplies.
  • Maintains corporate office equipment.
  • Promote and demonstrates positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents and visitors.
  • Complies with all established policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant
  • Working knowledge of office equipment (postage meter, folding machine)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math and accounting skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is also required to stand and walk.
