The Nursing Scheduler reports to the Director of Nursing and is responsible for maintaining staffing levels on all nursing units.
Essential Job Duties:
- Coordinates staffing for facility ensuring coverage for all units. Responsible for securing team
- members for absences, leaves, etc and adjusting schedules as required.
- Maintains records on all time off requests, excused /unexcused absences and missed punches while
- notifying Administration to confirm appropriate action.
- Establishes and maintains schedules patterns for clinical team members in payroll management
- system.
- Ensures accuracy of timecards in payroll management system for proper payroll processing.
- Responsible for ensuring all exceptions are reviewed and are accurate prior to payroll processing.
- Coordinates/manages agency staff time in payroll management system to ensure PBJ data accuracy.
- Maintains Core Schedule to ensure accuracy of Job Vacancy Report.
- Conducts CNA interviews for the facility
- Verifies that all nursing team members meet eligibility/licensure requirements.
- Works with the Education Department to ensure all nursing team members attend and complete
- orientation and training classes as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring all new nursing staff are introduced to the building prior to/on their first
- day.
- Assists in administering the uniform policy for the facility.
- Completes the weekly scheduler checklist and submits it via email.
- Participates in in-service training.
- Must maintain effective & efficient communication with all stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be able to perform the above stated essential duties and responsibilities.
- High School diploma/GED required
- Associate or some college level training preferred
- Experience as a staffing coordinator/nursing scheduler or in a similar position preferred.
- Must possess empathy and emotional intelligence in being the liaison between staff and
- management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Computer knowledge required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll management systems
- preferred.
- Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
