Woodshop TeacherÂ
**Sign On Bonus $5,000** - paid in 2 parts 1/2 at 30 days and 1/2 at a year - (the bonus only applies if you have a New State Teacher Certification)
Available shifts - Monday-Friday between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm - no weekends

As a woodshop teacher, you will teach students the knowledge needed to work with wood, including safety procedures, tool usage, and project construction. You will develop and implement lesson plans, provide hands-on instruction, and assess student progress. You will work with students of multiple ages and skill levels. You will report to the director of Curriculum, Instruction & CSE Chair and will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Instruction: Teach woodworking techniques, safety procedures, proper use of hand power tools and providing constructive feedback.
- Curriculum Development: Plan and implement lesson plans that align with educational standards and student needs.
- Hands-on Training: Providing guidance to students as they work on projects, demonstrating techniques and troubleshooting issues.
- Safety Management: Enforce safety regulations and ensuring a safe learning environment in the woodshop.
- Assessment: Evaluate student progress, providing feedback, and tracking achievement of learning outcomes.
- Material Management: Oversee the inventory and maintenance of tools and materials.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a productive learning environment.
Requirements and Education:
- Master's/Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or an appropriate subject area, Teacher Certification, or eligible for a transitional certificate within 6 months of hire, or experienced woodworker willing to work towards transitional certificate with equivalent education required.
- 1+ years of experience as a woodworker or woodshop teacher.
