Junior Systems Integrator

Position Summary:
The Junior Systems Integrator will support the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team at Southland Steel Fabricators in Amite/Greensburg, LA. Working closely with the Lead Systems Integration Specialist, this entry-level role involves implementing software and creating data-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency. This hands-on position is ideal for someone eager to learn, solve real business problems, and actively contribute to both the technical and operational sides of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn, understand, and provide technical support for industry and custom software
• Assist with developing web-based dashboards that query databases to monitor production
• Document and map business processes to identify improvement opportunities
• Work on equipment and machinery integration projects using industry related protocols
• Support data collection efforts across production facilities using SQL
• Support all data-driven technology initiatives within the engineering team
• Prepare and conduct training sessions on basic technology use

Qualifications:

• Entry-level to 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Basic understanding of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Node.js).
• Familiarity with Python and/or C# is a plus.
• Knowledge of database concepts and experience with SQL.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a data-centric mindset.
• Ability to write technical documentation.
• Reliable, punctual, and enjoys hands-on, non-desk-only work
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering Technology preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Regular on-site presence is required at our Amite/Greensburg facilities.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions as part of system integration efforts
• Physical ability to move between office and manufacturing environments
• Occasional shop work (lifting up to 25lbs)
