Senior Controls Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Program both safety and non-safety PLCs and Operator HMIs according to Matrix standards and customer specifications.
• Provide the technical expertise required for computer and PLC setup, programming, and assistance, including the planning/writing and testing/debugging of programming code as necessary.
• Configure and program network remote I/O devices using Ethernet IP, PROFIBUS, and PROFINET.
• Work collaboratively with Electrical Engineers and Applications Engineers to complete systems that meet customer expectations and deadlines.
• Perform startup, testing, and debugging of hardware, including all field devices.
• Travel to customer facilities to complete installations, make modifications, and support run-offs when necessary.
• Provide input to engineering, manufacturing, and Matrix management as appropriate to inform them of findings that are significant to improving existing products and/or new products.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is preferred; an Associates's degree or Certificate from a two-year college or technical school in PLC programming acceptable.
• Minimum 3-5 years controls programming experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs And HMIs
• Must be able to read and understand electrical prints
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Microsoft office suite (WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK)
• Some robot programming experience is preferred, but not required
