We are seeking a Project Developer – Energy Transition to join our team in Europe. This role is instrumental in expanding Aquatech’s presence in the energy transition space, including carbon capture, hydrogen (green and blue), and biofuels. The Project Developer will drive business development efforts, cultivate key client relationships, and identify strategic growth opportunities across the EU region.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a strong technical background and demonstrated success in business development. This role requires up to 50% travel.

 

Key Responsibilities

  •  Drive business development and achieve revenue targets within the energy transition markets (carbon capture, hydrogen, biofuels).
  • Promote Aquatech’s solutions and technologies in the assigned region.
  • Conduct presentations to introduce new technologies and concepts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and stakeholders.
  • Provide pre-bid support, including budget estimates and technical input; proposals will be developed by the U.S. headquarters.
  • Identify new market segments and opportunities; analyze competitive landscape.
  • Gather and analyze customer insights to inform go-to-market strategy.
  • Support engineering teams in developing viable technical and commercial solutions.
  • Develop and manage regional sales channels (e.g., manufacturer reps, partners, subcontractors).
  • Contribute to building a regional team to support business development efforts.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to independently manage a sales territory and build client relationships.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and multicultural environment.
  • Analytical mindset with strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Familiarity with the energy transition ecosystem (carbon capture, hydrogen, biofuels) is a plus

Physical Job Demands:

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, limited walking, and limited standing. Ability to manage strains of travel by air or road and navigate drive to customers in business.

Qualifications / Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the water industry.
  • At least 5 years in a business development or commercial role.
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  •  Ability and willingness to travel 35%–50% annually.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
