Description

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), an established San Francisco-based nonprofit organization defending online privacy and free expression, is looking for a full-time Dynamics Specialist to support the Development team’s use of the CRM to maximize our efficiency and fundraising.

As the Dynamics Specialist, you will be responsible for streamlining and automating CRM processes while providing day-to-day administrative support for the Development team. This role combines hands-on process improvement with ongoing system maintenance and essential team operations, ensuring our data and workflows are efficient, accurate, and reliable.

Some of What You’ll Do
The Dynamics Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate Development team processes using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related systems. 
  • Build, configure, and maintain workflows, imports, and other automations, dashboards, and reports to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. 
  • Accurately and promptly process donations, including check handling, data entry, and acknowledgement letters. 
  • Manage fulfillment of donor gifts, receipts, and merchandise orders across multiple platforms.
  • Respond to supporter inquiries by phone and email in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.

To be successful in this job, you’ll need:

  • In-depth knowledge of Dynamics 365 workflows, imports, and other automations in a nonprofit setting.
  • A keen understanding of how the CRM contributes to business goals in a nonprofit fundraising team.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising administration.

What Else You Should Know
This is a hybrid position based at our offices in San Francisco.  One to two days in the office per week are required with additional in office days required during busy times. Fully remote applicants will not be considered. The compensation for this position ranges from $110,000 to $116,700 depending on experience and location.

Detailed Job Description

 

Position Summary
The Dynamics Specialist will play a key role in maximizing the capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 to support the Development team’s work. This position will focus on identifying inefficiencies, creating automations, and streamlining processes to improve data accuracy and operational efficiency. In addition to implementing improvements, the Specialist will provide ongoing Dynamics 365 administrative support in collaboration with our primary CRM Administrator, ensuring the system remains reliable, effective, and well-documented. The role also manages core day-to-day administrative functions for the Development team and delivers exceptional customer service to our supporters.


Essential Functions

  • CRM Administration
    • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate Development team workflows using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related systems.
    • Build, configure, and maintain workflows, imports, and other automations, dashboards, and reports to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
    • Perform regular data maintenance, including deduplication, data cleanup, and quality assurance, to ensure system integrity.
    • Document all processes, configurations, and automations to create clear, consistent reference materials for staff.
    • Collaborate with the CRM Administrator to troubleshoot and resolve system issues, implement enhancements, and support help tickets from teams across the organization.
  • Donor and Membership Administration
    • Accurately and promptly process donations, including check handling, data entry, and acknowledgement letters.
    • Manage fulfillment of donor gifts, receipts, and merchandise orders across multiple platforms.
    • Train and supervise temporary staff during high-volume periods.
  • Customer Service
    • Respond to supporter inquiries by phone and email in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
    • Monitor and communicate trends in donor feedback, working with the team to address recurring issues and improve supporter experience
  • Other Duties
    • Carry out additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Donor Operations.

Required Education & Experience

  • Proven experience working in a similar role in Dynamics 365 environments.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising processes, strategies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 customization and administration in a nonprofit setting.
  • A keen understanding of how the CRM contributes to business goals in a nonprofit fundraising team.

Compensation: $110,000 to $116,700 DOE 
Classification: Union, Exempt, Full-time (40 hours/week)
Expected hours of work: Monday-Friday, generally 9am to 5pm
Reports to: Director of Donor Operations
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Location: This is a hybrid position based at our offices in San Francisco.  One to two days in the office per week are required with additional in office days required during busy times. Fully remote applicants will not be considered.
Travel: EFF hosts two one-week all-staff gatherings in the Bay Area each year in the spring and fall, and all staff are expected to attend.
