The Primary responsibilities of the Machinery Engineer will involve engineering support and reliability improvements for rotating equipment within our plant.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Owner/Operator rotating equipment engineering experience
- Knowledgeable in large industrial compressors medium to high pressure 3,000 psig (reciprocating and centrifugal), pumps (reciprocating and centrifugal), fans, and blowers
- Knowledgeable of continuous rotating equipment condition monitoring platforms and the ability to troubleshoot rotating equipment based on continuous equipment monitoring data
- Responsible for identifying and implementing rotating equipment reliability improvements
- Responsible for making improvements that increase pump and compressor MTBF
- Responsible for developing rotating equipment asset care strategies
- Knowledgeable in compressors (reciprocating and centrifugal), pumps (reciprocating and centrifugal), fans, and blowers
- Work in a team environment with other disciplines, operations, mechanical personnel.
- Proactively seek improvements directed at increasing plant reliability.
- Specify new rotating equipment to comply with industry and company design practices.
- Ensuring safe, cost-effective, operable rotating equipment and associated systems are provided and maintained to meet current site needs.
- Need to be available for infrequent off-normal working hours support.
- Provide technical training to mechanical and operations personnel.
- Provide QA/QC on repairs onsite/off-site.
- Provide vendor surveillance on major machine repairs.
- Periodically review rotating equipment performance
- Provide assistance during plant startups, shutdowns, and/or upsets.
- Provide guidance on prioritization of machinery related work.
