Sutphen is seeking an electrical engineering technician to join our growing team in Dublin, Ohio.

In this role, you will play a key part in the electrical layout and design of custom fire apparatus, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and NFPA standards. The position involves creating precise electrical system documentation, producing CAD drawings, and troubleshooting production issues to support manufacturing goals. Success in this role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to accuracy, safety, and teamwork.

Job Specifications:

  • Display respectable interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional team members.
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills with superior attention to detail
  • Must be able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • This individual will be responsible for the electrical layout of fire apparatus. This will include the overall layout of the fire apparatus’ electrical system in compliance with customer specifications and applicable NFPA standards to achieve Chassis Production Goals
  • Produce accurate electrical system documentation to be used in the manufacturing process
  • Uses CAD software to create designs and drawings. Must be proficient with 2D computer aided drafting programs (AutoCAD, Draftsight, etc).
  • Ability to self-check designs and drawings for accuracy and completeness
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of the NFPA 70 National Electric Code.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge NFPA 79 Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge NFPA 1901 Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues that come up during production and drive quick resolution.
  • Works with Engineers, Sales Engineers, Production Personnel to interpret design requirements, determine detail required, and coordinate design with other designers.
  • Resolves design issues with Sales Engineering and Production
