POSITION SUMMARY: Internship Program Overview - Midrex’s 2026 Summer Internship Program offers an immersive assignment to undergraduate and graduate students, enhancing their understanding of the business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a people centric organization. Midrex offers a 20+ hour per week, paid internship that begins with an orientation in June and concludes in early August.
We are looking for several Engineering Interns with disciplines including:
- Mechanical
- Civil / Structural
- Equipment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The internship will consist of a project-based assignment to broaden learning, experience, organizational knowledge, and business acumen. Potential Areas of Learning:
- Ability to work on a variety of real-world impact projects based on the specific discipline being pursued.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn modern technology, software and tools including 3-D CAD and analysis software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and written/oral communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Attend domestic inspection trips with Midrex teammates.
- Possibility of a domestic or international trip to visit an operating Midrex plant.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to move around a fabrication shop and an industrial plant site, including safely climbing inside and around equipment.
