Position Summary:

The Senior Systems Engineer will lead and support the integration and verification of complex electro-mechanical systems within our product portfolio. This role serves as a key technical contributor and project lead, responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing system-level integration, verification, and validation (V&V) activities. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong organizational and leadership skills to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance with design and regulatory requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead system integration efforts across hardware, software, and firmware components to ensure cohesive product performance.
  • Plan, manage, and execute system verification and validation (V&V) activities, including test planning, test case development, and test execution.
  • Develop and maintain system-level requirements, traceability matrices, and verification documentation in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Product Management to ensure smooth system transitions from concept to production.
  • Drive technical problem-solving and root cause analysis during system integration and test phases.
  • Define and manage system test environments, tools, and equipment to support efficient testing and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support management in coordinating team resources.
  • Serve as a technical project manager for system-level development activities, maintaining schedules, resource plans, and risk assessments.
  • Support design reviews, design verification reports, and formal product qualification testing.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in systems engineering and V&V practices.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s or other graduate degree preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration, and/or verification and validation of complex electro-mechanical or mechatronic systems.
  • Experience managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering projects. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong familiarity with systems engineering principles (requirements management, risk analysis, interface control, traceability).
  • Proven track record in planning and executing system-level V&V activities.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with configuration management and test documentation tools.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to lead cross-functional discussions and report clearly to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of medical device or regulated product development (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 60601) is highly desirable.
