Summary
Under close and frequent supervision, assists Project Managers by performing work involving the application of all conventional aspects of civil/structural engineering for infrastructure projects including design and rehabilitation of pipelines, pump stations, lift stations and treatment facilities, flood control structures, and other heavy civil infrastructure.
Responsibilities
· Performs design calculations and modeling for pipelines, pumps, and concrete, to include both facilities and/or transportation related projects.
· Performs sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment.
· Coordinates project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline group.
· Reviews drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and architects and recommends necessary changes.
· Researches code issues and works with City, State, and County officials.
· Researches design options and documents findings for Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.
· Assists with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.
· May attend “kick-off” and design review meetings, and interacts with clients as his or her level of experience progresses.
· May be required to complete safety training courses relative to engineering project environments (i.e. fall protection, confined space entry, CPR/first aid, electrical safety, personal protective equipment, OSHA safety, or hazard communication).
· Travel may be required to attend meetings, project sites, or other business-related functions as part of your job duties. When a company vehicle is unavailable, your personal vehicle shall be utilized.
· Performs other duties assigned by a Project Manager or the Engineering Department Manager.
