This position will serve both locations of Flex High Michigan Flint and Burton.
Compensation: Competitive compensation package starting from $51,500
This position will support subjects in Medical or Business.

How You Will Make an Impact:
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher will plan and provide instruction to students enrolled in a specific occupational area. Will teach in a personalized or small group instructional environment, working with staff, students and/or parents to determine and evaluate student academic achievement. The CTE Teacher will provide students the academic, technical and work skills to help students succeed in college and careers. This position reports to the Principal or designee.

• Plan and provide instruction to students enrolled in a specific occupational area.
• Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
• Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.
• Prepare students for later educational experiences by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.
• Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress.
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
• Utilize professional instructional strategies and approved curriculum and materials.
• Engage with local businesses and community agencies to establish industry partnerships.
• Practice detailed record keeping and reporting in support of student achievement and continuous program improvement.
• Collaborate with core teachers and other school staff for student success in attendance and achievement.
• Drive implementation of basic CTE programs to facilitate career awareness and exploration for all students.
• Support student preparation and training in work-based learning experiences.
• Contribute to plans in support of student attendance and transportation needs.
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attend and participate in department, school staff meetings, and assigned professional development activities
• Attendance at graduation ceremonies.
• Participate, as assigned by the academic leader, in all state and school mandated testing.
• Maintain industry recognized certificates and credentials as appropriate and attend related trainings as directed.
• Perform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned. These may be changed or modified from time to time.
