Summary:  Reporting to the Director of Clinics, the Faculty Clinician is responsible for supervising and working with clinical students to provide quality patient care and complete required documentation for both patient care and student education. 

 

 

PRINICPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Manage patient care within the approved policies and procedures of the Logan Health Centers.
  2. Responsible for all patient health care decisions to include evaluation, management, and recordkeeping.
  3. Be a consultation resource for other faculty members.
  4. Provides hands-on mentoring and fosters a critical thinking environment for student education.
  5. Oversee student conduct, proficiency, professionalism, and compliance with health center standards.
  6. Oversee and issue quantitative and qualitative credits and provide feedback to students regularly.
  7. Assist with clinical education activities (evaluations, orientation, remediations, mentor meetings, etc.) as needed.
  8. Engage students in a variety of clinical activities while ensuring appropriate continuity of patient care.
  9. Participate in health center meetings as well as mandatory professional development activities.
  10. Participate in College committees and task forces assigned.
  11. Maintain clean and orderly patient treatment areas and report any equipment needing repair.
  12. Role model compliance with federal regulations regarding billing, documentation, coding, HIPAA, and Medicare guidelines.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
  2. Appropriate professional licensure to practice in the state of Missouri.
  3. Three years of clinical chiropractic experience.
  4. Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the needs of the University.
  5.  

Preferred:

  1. Experience in higher education clinical teaching setting.
  2. Evidence of a commitment to continuing education and commitment to Logan University’s mission and values.
  3. Demonstration of service to the community.
  4. Participation in professional organizations.
