Machine Operator - Waterjet

SUMMARY

 

Sets up and operates Waterjet by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

Positions work piece on cutting bed and aligns material perpendicular to water fed nozzle.

Pushes buttons or remote control pad to activate and maneuver robotic arms on machine.

Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.

Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.

Stacks, marks, packs, and transports finished work pieces.

Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Performs housekeeping duties around work center to avoid slips, trips, and falls.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write, fill out paperwork and keep track of time in English.  Ability to comprehend written and oral job instructions in English.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problem, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or Lifting as required filing documents or storing materials throughout the workday.  Need to be able to lift 40 lbs.  Proper lifting techniques required.
