Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN)- Outpatient Only

Community Health Alliance is looking for an Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN). Full-time opportunities are not available at this time.

We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more. 

Job Description:  Responsible for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions that impact women’s health.  Provides comprehensive, outpatient services for OB/GYN patients on a continuing basis in the ambulatory setting.  Duties include diagnosing and monitoring illnesses and diseases, providing medical support to pregnant women and performing routine check-ups on patients of Community Health Alliance.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited medical school and Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.  Must be licensed or have the ability to become licensed in the State of Nevada. 
• Minimum two years practice experience preferred
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of the essential functions, practices and procedures of a medical clinic and office
2. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10-CM coding
3. Knowledge of and ability to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases and injuries in the scope of OB/GYN, acting as part of a Care Team that is assigned to an empaneled patient group.
4. Knowledge of, skills related to and ability to treat medical emergencies
5. Thorough understanding of infection control procedures and standards of care for reproductive health 
6. Skill in operating personal computer utilizing word processing, databases and e-mail
7. Skill in operating various office equipment: calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and telephone
8. Skill in operating various medical office equipment, such as; EKG machine, pulse oximeter, nebulizer, spirometer, audiology, sterilizers, etc.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, patient financial and medical information
10. Ability to read, write legibly, calculate mathematical figures and medication doses
11. Ability to provide accurate, effective care under pressure
12. Ability to solve practical problems dealing with a variety of variables as a Care Team member
13. Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions
14. Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members in a Care Team structure to build and to enhance teamwork in the clinics and overall CHA's organization
15. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner
16. Ability to create tailored treatment plans
17. Ability to interview and communicate either in person of with an interpreter with patients in a clinical setting in Spanish
18. Ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population groups as defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, etc.
19. Ability to hear and speak to converse over telephone and interview patients
20. Ability to accurately calculate and administer doses of medication and perform physical exams
21. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis
