Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Employees are expected to support the quality concepts inherent in the business philosophies of Stahmanns Inc, including a variety of job-related tasks, which include the following:
- Mechanic records details of repairs made and parts used.
- Mechanic after repair, test equipment, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Mechanic maintains and repairs farm equipment and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, heavy equipment and irrigation systems.
- Mechanic tests and replaces electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools.
- Mechanic repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools, power tools, or welding equipment.
- Mechanic tops off all fluids on equipment such as fuel, hydraulic oil, motor oil and clean air filters.
- Mechanic drives trucks with tools for on-site repair.
- Mechanic fabricate or improvise repairs.

Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficient in auto/ heavy equipment mechanics
- Familiar with hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of welding
- Knowledge of electrical systems
- Able to use various hand and air tools
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize work
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (Physical and Mental Demands):
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years experience
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Reporting Relationship:
This position reports directly to the Shop Manager at Stahmanns Inc, La Mesa, NM
