RETAIL MERCHANDISER- Military

Primary Purpose: The Retail Merchandiser will service established retailers in product development to include promotional programs, merchandising and brand strategies. Position also includes data analysis, category management and overall assistance to retailers in maximizing sales volume, store distribution and gross profit.

Essential Functions:

1. Implement retail sales strategy.
2. Research, analyze and understand: demographics, competition, schematics of stores, relationship of produce sales to overall store sales, promotional sales vs. regular store sales, GP’s product mix and sales reports.
3. Evaluates effectiveness of retail merchandising programs.
4. Implement retail marketing programs.
5. Participate with Buying and Sales Departments in developing weekly promotions.

Additional Functions:

1. Attends and participates in all staff meetings and company functions, as requested.
2. Learns and utilizes all office policies and procedures.
3. Reports regularly to supervisor.
4. Complies with all safety and security regulations and procedures.
5. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. Effective written and oral communications.
2. Proficient in Windows-based computer applications.

Education and Experience:

High School graduate. Preferred five years experience in the retail, produce merchandising field including experience in developing and implementing programs. Additionally, three years sales experience preferably in the retail/grocery field and proven experience in all areas listed in qualifications.
