General Summary
Responsible for the review and accuracy of the HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act) loan data required to be collected and reported annually and the review and accuracy of adverse action forms for loan denials and withdrawals. Assist the Compliance and Risk Manager with preparing for internal audits, external audits, and compliance exams.


Principal Responsibilities and Duties

 

  1. HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act)
    • Responsible for being knowledgeable and up to date on banking laws and regulations as well as CNB policies and procedures pertaining to HMDA.
    • Review the accuracy of data collected and required to be reported on originated mortgage loans, as well as non-originated applications (denials, withdrawals, approved but not accepted applications).
    • Data entry of HMDA data into CenTrax NEXT software
    • Annual submission to the federal banking regulator
    • Meet quarterly deadline for HMDA data required on the Loan Application Register (LAR)
    • Preparing documents & reports requested by internal auditors, external auditors or bank examiners.
    • Working with exception reports
  2. Adverse Actions
    • Review adverse action Denials/Withdrawn loan files for accuracy and in compliance with Regulation B.
    • Return any Withdrawn/Denied adverse actions that are not in compliance or accurate to the  loan officer or loan assistant with corrections needed.
    • Mail customer adverse action notice within the required timeframe.
    • Log Denial/Withdrawn loan in Denial Log.
    • Document the Denial/Withdrawal loan as either HMDA reportable or not on Denial Log.
    • Ensure HMDA information is captured in the HMDA reporting software.
  3. Online Training
    • Add, deactivate, reactivate, and/or edit a user as needed.
    • Assign online courses pertaining to the employee’s job title.
    • Review, edit, and update online courses as needed.
    • Run monthly monitoring report to ensure all new employees successfully complete the BSA and Fair Lending (if applicable) training within 30 days of hire date.
    • Ensure all online training is completed by the end of each year.
    • Assist in retrieving audit reports pertaining to online training.
  4. General Duties
    • Assisting the Compliance and Risk Manager with various projects that may be necessary from time to time.
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
    • Work cooperatively with others.
    • Work overtime as needed.
    • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in the job classification.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Computer software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Internet, DocuCommand (imaging), CenTrax NEXT(data entry & analysis software), CDTrax (community development software), Director, Navigator, and Abrigo (loan origination software).
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations and future changes to these regulations.
  • Familiar with policies and procedures pertaining to HMDA and Adverse Actions.
  • Problem solving ability, self-starter, and independent thinker with strong analytical skills.
  • Careful attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Heavy research ability.
  • Willingness to grow, learn and adapt to various responsibilities.
  • Close visual ability to read and review in detail data, reports and banking regulations on paper and computer.
  • Ability to produce reports, e-mails, and memos in a comprehensive and legible manner.

Physical Requirements

  • Minimal lifting of files, paperwork, office supplies and office equipment.
  • Consistent operation of computer, printer, copier, scanner, calculator, and phone.
  • Remain in a stationary position, at a workstation in front of a computer for the majority of the day.
