The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician: B-Mechanic is to serve as a vital and valuable asset to a Maintenance Team where your mechanical aptitude abilities will directly impact the quality of ensuring all public transportation vehicles are maintained safely and efficiently.
- Operates welders, bus lifts, and various types of shop equipment
- Must be familiar with both S cam air brakes
- Assist A- Mechanic by providing the maintenance and service of heavy duty air conditioning systems
- Electrical repairs/troubleshooting utilizing bus schematics, wiring diagrams, and a variety of testing equipment
- Maintain and repair suspension , steering, and drive line components
- Preventative maintenance and inspections for all equipment such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, wheel balancing, replacing filters and other vital repairs for the vehicles
- Supports Maintenance Supervisors in responding to e.g. (‘10-31’ or Road Calls) to ensure fleet is ready for service
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and Maintenance supervisors
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain effective communication with all staff to ensure continuity of care
- Assists with identifying areas for improvement and making constructive changes
- Understands all aspects of the company and keeps abreast of all changing policies and procedures
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and Maintenance Supervisors
