Summary


Leader Bank has an immediate opportunity for a Secondary Market Analyst based hybrid in Arlington, MA. The selected individual will play a key role in supporting the lock desk for the sale of residential mortgages into the secondary market along with assisting in the management of Leader Bank’s pipeline of loans in process. This individual will be working in a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail, strong communication skills, an understanding of interest rates, and an interest in learning about the delivery of mortgage loans and mortgage-backed securities. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Track and approve incoming rate lock commitments from Loan Officers. •    Register individual rate lock commitments internally and with outside investors. 
  • Evaluate locks with consideration of market movement, profitability, and company efficiency. 
  • Assist in the management of mortgage pipeline hedging and bulk delivery commitments.  
  • Analyze current market news and conditions to assist in price and hedge decisions.
  • Coordinate rate lock pricing, modifications, renegotiations, and confirmations with remote loan officers via phone, e-mail, and in-person. 
  • Assist underwriting and processing staff with loan program and pricing questions.
  • Manage expiration and delivery dates of committed loans in the pipeline. 
  • Work with sales staff to develop new products and pricing campaigns. 

 

Qualifications

  • 2 – 3 years of lock desk experience at another lender
  • Experience with Encompass
  • Experience with a loan pricing engine
  • BS/BA; preferred majors: Economics, Finance, or Computer Science.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work in a high-pressured environment. 
  • Efficiency with Excel and ability to learn other industry specific computer programs.
  • Experience or interest in real estate and mortgages is a plus
