The QA Lab Tech Floater is responsible for filling in during the absence of the QA Lab Tech on any given shift. This includes testing ingredients, packaging materials, in-process product, and finished goods; performing quality control actions to prevent deviations across the production process; analyzing quality control data; maintaining the QA laboratory workspace and equipment; conducting product inspections; and keeping accurate records. Additionally, this role ensures the safety, quality, and legality of the food products manufactured at the facility.
Responsibilities:
-Ingredient and packaging material sampling and receiving analysis.
-In-process and finished goods sampling and physiochemical analysis.
-Production process systematic supervision and records verification.
-Ingredient, packaging material and finished product retention sampling.
-Finished product scoring.
-Support to Quality Control Lead and Operators.
-Assistance in the investigation of customer complaints and nonconformities in the production process, as well as carry out corrective and preventive actions.
-Critical Control Point (CCP) verification.
-Changeover inspection and release.
-Product on hold / Nonconforming product inspection and release
-QA Laboratory workspace and equipment maintenance, organizing, and cleaning
– 5S program.
-Verification and calibration of the QA equipment.
-Control of laboratory supplies and inventory (equipment, materials, chemicals, waste, etc.).
-Management of documents and records in the QA laboratory.
-Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspections.
-Support the 5S program in the manufacturing facility, keeping working areas, utensils, and equipment clean and organized.
-Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Quality & Food Safety guidelines.
-Compliance with company safety rules and procedures including reports to the management team of any unsafe conditions.
-Support to all quality shifts, as needed.
-Quality deviations follow-up and retests
-Support projects and studies (plant trials, process improvements, etc.)
-Foreign matter incident investigations and follow-up.
-Magnetic Trap Verification.
-Retention Samples.
-Systematic Supervisions.
-Plant startup verifications: seasoning, film packaging, lot code, case label, color code compliance in the seasoning room, check weigher verification.
-Plant shut down: cleaning and organization of QA laboratory workspace and equipment, tools and equipment storage, waste disposal.
-Any other duties assigned by the management.
