IT Technician
Full Time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Systems Admin, Director Information Technology
Education/Experience Required/Preferred: A high school diploma is required. Candidates working on a degree in the computer/technology field or who have strong backgrounds with computers is preferred.

General Responsibilities  

The Technician provides general technology help desk support for faculty and staff. Additionally, this person also assists in setups and installations of individual computers, labs, network projects, and other general technology related tasks.

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Setup and installation of new workstations.
  • Basic setup and troubleshooting of all classroom technology.
  • Comfortable with computers using both Mac OS and Windows.
  • Move equipment as needed.
  • Assist faculty and staff with technology needs as directed.
  • Respond to technology help desk tickets.
  • Answer IT phone calls and respond as needed.
  • Contact vendors for warranty and support issues.
  • Communicate regarding inventory movement and liquidations, and when supplies are needed.
  • Assist in maintaining tech office and work areas in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Assist in keeping software/hardware organized and stored properly.
  • Assist others on the technology team when needed.
  • Keep abreast of new and recent trends in technology.
  • Participate in self-assessments and personal growth plans as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Systems Admin, Director Information Technology.

Qualifications

Qualifications 

Village Christian School seeks to hire only employees with a vibrant Christian faith.  Successful candidates will possess experience in:

  • Overall competency using computers.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to work well with various stakeholders from VCS employees, students, and vendors.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software/hardware problems, setup and install computers, and provide routine computer maintenance.
  • Ability to provide regular maintenance and support of Windows and Macintosh OS.
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow multi-step directions.
  • Various technology-related certifications are desirable, but not required.
  • Maintains a commitment to the school’s statement of faith in action and belief.
  • High school graduate.

 

This is a full time 40 hours a week, 12 months per year position.

This position reports directly to the Systems Admin, Director Information Technology.
