A Restorative Aide is a Certified Nursing Assistant who has been given additional training in the area of rehabilitation. The RA’s primary responsibility is to work directly with individual residents in restoring and maintaining functional skills.
Restorative aides follow a program written by therapy or by nursing to maximize these areas for the resident(s):Â Â passive range of motion, active range of motion, splint or brace assistance, training and skill practice, bed mobility, transfers, ambulation, dressing and grooming, splint application, eating, swallowing, communication, bowel and bladder retraining, and prosthetic/amputee care.
May need to perform CNA duties such as assist in dining room or assist with ADL tasks as needed..Documents on cares given as Restorative aide/CNA.
