Basic Function:
The Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist (“CLDS”) is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of commercial loan documentation, pre-closing and post-closing due diligence, and general commercial loan administrative support. The CLDS works closely with commercial administrative staff, relationship managers, and credit staff to effectively administer the origination and processing functions of the Commercial Banking division.
Essential Job Duties:
The responsibilities of the Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and review loan documents
- Load and process loans
- Quality Control – Loan Document Peer Review
- File and record original documents
- Prepare collateral releases
- Scan and archive documents
- Credit file maintenance
- Daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
- Liaison to the Bank’s loan operations staff
- Customer inquiries, audit confirmations, and compliance reporting
- Apply payments, facilitate funds transfers, process wires, etc.
The Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist will perform various other duties as assigned, maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and Bank policies and procedures related to commercial loan operations, and assist the management and compliance staff in preparing for audits and regulatory examinations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The CLDS is expected to have knowledge of loan documentation, and it is preferred that the CLDS have a comprehensive knowledge of the commercial loan processing function to ensure the accurate and efficient production of loan documents and performance of necessary tasks and file maintenance. Strong communication skills and ability to complete projects within a team environment is essential. Additionally, the candidate should have an up-beat and energetic attitude and a strong sense for customer service. Attention to detail and deadlines is crucial, as is the ability to prioritize and multi-task. The candidate should be proficient with email and Microsoft Word and Excel.
Training and Experience:
The ideal candidate would have experience with loan documentation software. The candidate should have experience preparing management reports. An associate's degree with 3 or more years of loan documentation preparation experience is preferred. Experience with LaserPro software is strongly preferred. However, individuals without prior loan documentation experience but significant administrative, technical, and/or process-management experience are encouraged to apply.
