Basic Function:

The Loan Servicing Associate – Credit & Recovery (the “Loan Servicing Associate”) will process a variety of loan servicing and operations transactions in a friendly, efficient, and accurate manner with a focus on collection and asset recovery for all types of consumer loans including residential mortgages.  The Loan Servicing Associate will also provide administrative support to the Senior Vice President, Consumer Lending.

The Loan Servicing Associate prepares reports to management, regulatory agencies, investors, third party vendors, and others on collection progress and performance. 

The Loan Servicing Associate assists in contacting individuals with outstanding debts and working with them to arrange repayment plans with a focus on minimizing financial losses and maintaining healthy customer relationships.

The Loan Servicing Associate will research information about debtors, such as updated contact information, and investigate discrepancies or disputes related to the debt.

The Loan Servicing Associate must understand and comply with relevant debt collection laws and regulations, such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and perform all duties in accordance with all Hickory Point Bank and Trust policies and guidelines.

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Monitor, track, and report delinquent accounts to management, regulatory agencies, investors, third party vendors, and others
  • Complete monthly credit history reporting, including E-Oscar
  • Coordinate preparation of documentation for legal proceedings such as foreclosure
  • Assist with the liquidation of collateral assets
  • Assist with property preservation
  • Process charge offs
  • Process invoices
  • Process Biller Advantage payments
  • Assist with preparing loan modification documents
  • Monitor and process Fannie Mae reimbursements
  • Prepare various non-collection related departmental reports
  • Performs a variety of system file maintenance
  • Process non-originated loan files
  • Provide back-up for other operational positions as directed by management
  • Perform additional duties/activities assigned by management

Training and Experience:

  • College degree preferred, high school diploma, or GED equivalent, required
  • Intermediate or expert level experience with Microsoft Office Suite, required
  • Collection experience, preferred
  • Loan operations experience, preferred
  • Customer service experience, preferred
