The Role

This individual will develop, support, and implement strategies that enhance talent recruitment, retention, and development efforts—advancing regional prosperity by attracting top talent, cultivating internal growth opportunities, and building a strong, sustainable talent pipeline. Oversee the events of the talent and workforce scope of work including task force meetings, signature events, and membership meetings.

 

Reporting Structure

This individual will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Education & Workforce and assist with overall operations of this team.

Key Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The duties and responsibilities include the following, though other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Provides leadership and oversight to the Talent Strategies team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational excellence.
  • Leads planning and implementation for signature talent and workforce events and other programs and events, including the State of Talent and Workforce, Talent Taskforce meetings, Talent Talks, and Talent Labs program.
  • Serves as the primary spokesperson and thought leader on talent strategy for the DRC, representing the organization at regional and national forums.
  • Guides the development and implementation of innovative programs that address workforce challenges and promote talent mobility.
  • Maintains deep knowledge of and engagement in current talent and workforce issues and landscape.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with employers, local and statewide human resources organizations, and other regional partners focused on talent development.
  • Leads cross-sector collaboration to align talent strategies with regional economic development priorities.
  • Disseminates policy and program information to the DRC’s members.
  • Engages business community and regional leaders to develop programs relating to talent and provides member engagement opportunities.
  • Supports fundraising and sponsorship opportunities to support key DRC initiatives. Supports DRC staff in attracting and maintaining members. Utilizes the systems in place to ensure all pertinent information about constituents is accurate and fully maintained.
  • Engages with and supports DRC management and staff for the purpose of organizational synergy to accomplish organization-wide budget, goals, and objectives.
  • Exercises discretion, political sensitivity, and independent judgment regularly with respect to matters pertaining to DRC talent strategies, programs, and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required and two to four years related experience and/or training.
  • Professional and comprehensive experience in an applicable field, with preference for prior experience in human resources, and/or with an organization that is similar in mission and activities to the DRC.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Oversee the Talent Strategies team, which may include a Coordinator, Manager, and Director.
