Summary of Position

The Waterpark Attendant at Marina Station Water Park plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our guests. This position is eligible to be a Waterpark Attendant if specific credentials are presented and/or acquired. This position is responsible for monitoring guests to ensure compliance with park rules and safety guidelines. Although not a lifeguard position, the Waterpark Attendant will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment by observing activities, addressing potential hazards, and assisting with guest inquiries.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain the highest level of professionalism in conduct and appearance at all times.
  2. Carry out the property’s It’s All Here culture in words & action.
  3. Understand and follow all Life Safety procedures.
  4. Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  5. Monitor and enforce park rules and safety guidelines across designated areas, including but not limited to pool decks, water slides, and other attractions.
  6. Politely remind guests to follow safety rules and regulations, ensuring that everyone adheres to park policies.
  7. Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors immediately.
  8. Assist in crowd control and ensure that pathways and exits remain clear and unobstructed.
  9. Provide friendly customer service by assisting guests with general questions and information about the park.
  10. Conduct routine inspections of attractions and areas to ensure a safe environment for guests.
  11. Maintain clear communication with fellow attendants, lifeguards, and management.
  12. Assist with emergency procedures and evacuations as needed.
  13. Participate in staff training sessions and briefings on safety and park protocols.
  14. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times.
  15. Any other duties as assigned by the Water Park Manager and/or Director of Operations.

  2. Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards, and environmental practices to ensure the safe and responsible operation of the water park.
  3. Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to quickly address issues ranging from equipment failures to guest concerns.
  4. Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with staff, guests, and leadership.
  5. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with water park equipment and basic maintenance practices to ensure smooth operations and also the waiver and point of sale (POS) systems.
  6. Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a dynamic, sometimes unpredictable environment, with the ability to adjust to seasonal fluctuations and changing demands.

Work Environment

This position operates in an outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, including sun, wind, and rain, especially during peak season. This position requires being in water, on a floating water park, in sand on wet or uneven docks. Sun protection is required and a dress code is required. Swimming is required.

 

Physical Demands

This position requires frequent walking, standing, and moving around docks, moving across a floating water park and in sand. This position requires being able to swim. The lifting of supplies and equipment that may exceed 50 lbs could also be required. Bending down, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and pushing, pulling are other physical demands that may be required of you. Accepting this job indicates you understand these physical demands and are able to complete the essential functions of the job that required these physical demands.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an hourly, seasonal position with part time and full time hours available during the open season. Weekends, evenings, and some holidays are required.

Qualifications

Preferred Education and Experience

The following education and experience are required for this position:

  1. High School Education or Equivalent is Required.
  2. Post-Secondary/Undergraduate Education is highly preferred.
  3. Previous experience in water park or recreational facility management preferred.
  4. Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid certifications, or willing to obtain, for Safety Attendant status and wages.
