Description

Newport Restaurant Group is looking for a Sales & Event Manager to join the team. Work location will be in Newport, RI. 

About the Position: The Sales & Event Manager is responsible for generating private event revenue through proactive sales efforts, relationship building, and event coordination.

About You: You are passionate, energetic and to whom pleasing and impressing guests comes naturally. The ideal candidate excels at both closing sales and delivering memorable guest experiences.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients after the is contract signing through event execution.
  • Collaborate with culinary, beverage, and operations teams to ensure event details are executed to client expectations.
  • Create and manage event orders, floorplans, timelines, and other relevant documents.
  • Attend pre-event meetings and post-event follow-up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Attends industry meetings and events which may take place outside of regular business hours

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation - $58,000 - $60,000/year PLUS Commission!

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of event coordination experience in the food-beverage-hospitality industry.
  • Experience with high-end weddings and customized events required
  • Must have flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong administrative skills, organized and detail oriented and prepared to multitask and work efficiently in a fast paced, high volume, aggressive sales atmosphere
  • Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships
